The World Without End #1

Book summary

She was born the day the world ended…

Nurrin has lived her entire life with zombies—trapped behind walls meant to keep them safe. She’s mostly happy there. But when a zombie horde breech the walls of her Haven, she has to trust her brother, Collin, and his best friend to keep her alive.

He just wants his past to die…

Finn O’Malley has given up on voicing warnings that are ignored. No one cares that the zombies are changing. Now all that matters is keeping Collin and Nurrin safe from what’s outside the walls of a Haven. But when Nurrin’s best friend picks up a contact infection, he agrees to get the medicine needed to save his life. Forced together, relying on each other in a strange Haven, zombies aren’t the most dangerous thing they’re facing.

The book on Goodreads.

Chapters 11-15 – Nazarea’s Thoughts:

Ah, these chapters. Ok, so I’ll admit, these are slower chapters than the first 10. But there was exposition that had to happen. And its not all slower. In these chapters, we get a lot of character interaction, and since character is what I adore, I personally loved these chapters. In chapter 11, we get to see how Finn and Collin react.

The threat of infection in Dustin becomes a driving force between in this book. It and the changing zombies, the havens that are falling, dictate the rest of the novel. And we learn about that, and the increasing threat in these chapters. We also get a quiet moment between Ren and Finn, which is fun—I love how much they dislike each other. It’s super fun.

Also, the scuffle between Finn and Ren is soooo awesome.

Favorite line:

“Eavesdropping is a bad habit—and the sign of a morally corrupt character.”
“You’d do it in a heartbeat.”
He finally glances at me, and for some reason, all I can see is the expression in his eyes when he watched me on the couch last night. “It’s said imitation is the sincerest form of flattery,” he says silkily.
“Imitate this,” I snap and flip him off. A smile twitches his lips before he turns back to the weapons on the table in front of him.
